Globalization and Business Applications †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Globalization and Business Applications. Answer: Introduction: In the modern day scenario, it might be said that the employees of Australia, Europe and America might not accept Ford and Taylorism. The prime reason being with the advent of improved technology automation has been one of the key concepts. Hence, the idea of changing the production process with the help of theory has been transformed. In the current situation the theory can be applied but with the base of automation and technological advancements. Scientific management of the companies or the employees must be dealt with detailed orientation towards management (Waring 2016). Taylor found out that most of the workers at times were de-motivated. He came out with the thought that the result was because of repetitive work. However, in the present days employees are motivated with the help of different rearwards and recognitions. This is to ensure that they do lack the motivation towards their work. In case of applying the theory in call centre, it might be fruitful to certain extent. The main reason for this is the fact that operation and the workflow in the call centre are largely based on division of labour or employees (Sinha and Gabriel 2016). In such cases, the division of work based on specialisation is required for effective workflow. Apart from this, it might be said that the division is based on the concept of niche. Hence, the role of the employees in the organisation can be assigned based on the credibility and specialisation that they retain. Another important factor that could be used in the call centers includes the surveillance of the team leaders. They act as the leader to keep a check on the team along with the generation of best result (Vidal 2015). In the recent days, this is one of the most important steps that could be taken by the companies. The video might be old but the principles that are used as the scientific management is applicable till date. The management theories that have been used in the industries internationally states the division of work, helping the employees with rewards and recognition and simple management techniques are necessary. This is relevant for the startup companies in the modern day aspect as well (Parmar 2013). Success can be easily guaranteed with the rightful application of scientific management. The ideas that could be still used include the following aspects: Division of work based on specialization Use of the scientific management to control the manufacturing or management of companies The selection of the right person for the right job Training of the employees or the work force Clear supervision of the workers to get the best result The companies to generate best result and revenue generation can apply these steps. The above points would also help in reaching the aims of the organization. Every organisation has the mission and vision of customer satisfaction and efficient work force. This can be rightfully ensured through the aspects that have been projected in the steps of scientific management. The usual viewpoint that could be retained entails that world is global and hence a small place to live in. the dominant ideas with the advent of globalization the world has been a smaller place with most of the services being reachable to people all around the world. This includes the help received from the technological development like internet and phone calls (Hirst, Thompson and Bromley 2015). However, Professor Ghemawat argued that world is neither entirely global nor local. In all the above regard, it might be said that he opined that in most of the cases it is important that companies must adjust with the similarities and the differences. Any of the enterprises must follow few easy steps, which includes adaptation, aggregation and arbitrage. The phase of adaptation can be dealt with the help of adjustment with the differences. Aggregation is through the method of overcoming the differences and finally arbitrage is through exploitation of differences. In most of the cases, we have the idea that due to globalization the world has been flat. On the contrary the same idea has been denied by Ghemawat stating that Globanomey is the concept (Ghemawat 2016). He opined that Facebook users entail 25% of the total users. However, as per the concept of globalization it might be said that the world is integrated, but this could be the case of random friendship on the social media networking. This does not make world flat. We have the notion that with the help of globalization the movement of people has been easy. Again, on this point Ghemawat was of the opinion that only 2% of students move from their motherland to other countries for higher studies. The idea of globalization is defeated in such cases. The promises that have been acquired for globalization are wrong and misleading in most of the cases. This can be seen in case of Jamaica. The country has been improving with the onset of globalisation. One of the key aspects of the improvement was travel and tourism. In most of the pictures, that idea that is providing to the international travelers includes something extravagant (Fujita and Thisse 2013). However, in most of the cases it has been found that the actual scenery is excessively different. The influence of trade and the effects of life and debt were considerable. This led to wide inequality in the country. Even while IMF tried to help, the interest rates were too high along with the interdependence of Jamaica on U.S (Pieterse 2015). Similarly, in case of Cambodia parents had to sell kids in order to receive money for daily survival. The sustenance of humankind was questionable. Sex trafficking rose to 32 billion US $.
